Ongoing Classes
OPEN CLASSROOM
Instructor: HELEN VRESILOVIC
Helen's classes will resume on Tuesday, January 10, 2012. On-going
classes are held on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00
p.m.
This is an
open class room for students to work in any medium, with
Helen helping with watercolors. Regular class fee for the open workshop is $3.00 for
members and $5.00 for nonmembers.
OIL PAINTING - (All Levels)
Instructor: PAT VAUGHN, Assistant: ANN ANDREJCAK
Classes will resume on Monday, January 9 and
Wednesday, January 11 and Wednesday, January 11 and
Thursday, January 12, 2012. On-going classes on all levels. Students attend only ONE
CLASS PER WEEK.
- Monday & Wednesday — 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM
OR
- Wednesday & Thursday — 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
All four classes will be held until the painting (Pebble
Creek) is finished, which we started in the fall of 2011.
There is a possibility that if enough students do not
register for classes for the next painting, that the
Wednesday evening class will be eliminated, as attendance
has been poor this past fall. We are encouraging students
with experience to branch out and paint something on their
own. We will be repeating a class painting (Gerber Daisies)
that was taught a few years ago for those that would like
some group instructions. We have three finished copies of
this painting for students to refer to, however I will not
be painting along with you in front of the class. I will be
doing some demonstrating though. Ann and I will go from
student to student to assist you (like in our summer
classes). There is a possibility that I might have a new
painting of Morning Glories for students to use for a copy,
when we start the repeat of Gerber Daisies. I really enjoy
teaching the classes, but the amount of homework that I have
to do on 4 paintings each week is more than I want to do
anymore. Dabs of paints will still be available for your
painting, so that you don’t have to purchase separate tubes
of paint. If it snows, please check with us to see if we are
having class. Pat (724) 863-2456
bobvon123@comcast.net
or Ann (724) 863-2368
duke54@comcast.net. Please register for the classes so I
know how many students plan on attending.
Pat provides step-by-step instructions to a completed
painting. She can teach students with no previous experience
or those with exceptional art ability. Necessary supplies:
brushes. Supplies can be purchased from the league. Pat
sells just the paints necessary for the class painting each
week, so you do not have to purchase a lot of paint to begin
classes. Call Pat at (724) 863-2456 or e-mail her at
bobvon123@comcast.net
or Ann Andrejcak at (724) 863-2368 or e-mail her at
duke54@comcast.net
for more details/registration for class. Missed classes can
be made up at other times.
New students will follow along to do the class painting
and more experienced students may do a painting of their
choosing. They must be able to mix their own paints, etc.,
so that they may start the painting by themselves.
Fee: Fee will be collected monthly $10.00/class for
members or $12.00/class for nonmembers.
WATERCOLOR LANDSCAPES (Beginner &
Intermediate)
Instructor: ELMER KNIZNER
Elmer's classes will resume on Monday, January 6,
2012.
On-going classes Monday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00
p.m.
Beginners to Intermediates
You may start this class on any Monday morning. Recording
images of nature, trees, rocks, sky, water, also adding
structures, barns, houses, etc. Using hard, soft and
rough textures (edges). Using photographs as a starting
point you may trace by using a light box, or draw your own
image. Materials list will be available upon registration.
The fee for this class is $10.00 a week for members and
$12.00 a week for nonmembers and should be paid for by the
month. If you register for this class and are not able to
make it, you must notify Sue Pringle at 724-864-3236 or
Elmer at 724-925-9377, so that
they are not expecting you.
