Annual Show Rules
The Norwin Art League holds
two annual art exhibits that have become
well known in the area for their excellence
in showcasing our local artists. Members are
encouraged to participate in the competition
and to offer their work for sale if they
wish to do so.
Norwin Art League Annual
Show
The Norwin Art League has held the annual
Art Exhibit for over 30 years, with
approximately 100 artists entering 200
pieces of art.
Eligibility and other criteria are as
follows:
- Art work must be completed within
the last (3) years.
- Works entered in previous Norwin Art
League Exhibits will not be accepted.
- OPEN: Original work and
composition (no copies of other
paintings) done by advanced skilled
artist.
- AMATEUR: Work done solely by
artist independently. (No copies of
other paintings.)
- ADULT STUDENTS: Work done
with supervision or in class.
- HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS:
Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, Senior -
work done with supervision.
- PHOTOGRAPHY: Original
composition, no digital alterations.
- COMPUTER GRAPHICS: Any form
of artwork created on computers.
(includes altered photographs and
original digital artwork)
RULES
All pictures must be framed and wired for
hanging. Exception: Paintings on
1-1/2" or thicker "gallery canvases" need
not be framed but must be wired
for hanging. Gallery canvases accepted only
with properly finished edges.
Screw eyes must be no lower
than 6 inches from top of frame.
Size of picture with frame must not exceed
42 inches in width or length.
Watercolors, pastels, graphics, photographs,
and batiks must be framed and
under glass for protection.
ENTRY FEES
This fee is the same if you have one piece
or two pieces of artwork. $20
Standard fee; $15 Norwin Art League Member
in good standing; $8 High
School Student. Make check to Norwin Art
League. Mail check or money order to:

PROTECTION
Every effort will be made to safeguard
pictures, but the Norwin Art League
and Redstone Highlands will not assume
responsibility for loss or damage.
WORK RECEIVED
Set up and delivery of art works, Wednesday,
September 9, 2009.
REMOVAL OF WORK
Sunday between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
SALES
The Norwin Art League will handle all sales
and retain 20% of such sales.
Mark entries NFS if you do not wish to sell
your painting.

Paintings are
received: Wednesday, September
9, 2009.
Participating
artists come from all over the
Western Pa. area. Students from
local high schools are invited
to enter. Norwin, Hempfield,
Penn Trafford and Yough School
Districts are sent letters
asking for interested students'
addresses.
Norwin Art
League members may submit
unframed pieces as well to sell
at the Art Mart during the
exhibit with only a 10%
commission to the Art League. We
also ask our members to
demonstrate on a painting during
the exhibit; all mediums are
acceptable. The artist may show
two other pieces for sale while
he is demonstrating painting. We
usually keep a schedule for the
demonstrating artists and
feature one at a time.
Art Mart Guidelines
This is an opportunity for members to sell their unframed artwork, with only a 10% commission to the Art League.

Oils and acrylics on canvas -- no larger than 18”x 24”

Watercolors, pastel and pencil -- no larger than 20”x 26”. These must be matted and covered with plastic or acetate. No plastic food wrap or cleaner bag plastic will be accepted! Some plastic bags are available at the Art League.

On a 3”x 5” (only) index card put your name and phone number. List each piece by number and price only. Use only one side of index card. Use two cards if necessary.

On back of each piece put your name, the corresponding number and price. On front, with small label, put price and number.

Delivery for Art Mart is the same as for the exhibit:
Wednesday, the set up date,
from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Pick-up will also be the same as the exhibit:
Sunday, the "closing day"
between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

The Art League will not be responsible for any loss of, or damage to any art work. Please keep duplicate records to avoid any mistakes.

Norwin Art League at the
Greensburg Garden & Civic Center

The spaces are limited so
applications are accepted on a first come
first serve basis.
Only two paintings per member are
allowed and the paintings are accepted in
order of receipt. Those who are too late are
notified in advance.
Paintings will be received
at the League during classes the week of
APRIL 18 through APRIL 24. (Mark on the
front of your painting “For Garden Center”).
Size should not exceed 30" in any direction.
Be sure all information listed below is also
on the BACK of piece and that it is framed
and/or matted correctly and ready for
hanging ~ If this is not done correctly it
will not be hung. All art MUST BE “FOR SALE”
.
A 20% commission will be
taken by the GG&CC. Paintings must be
picked-up promptly after show at the League.
The N.A.L. and the GG&CC will take all
precautions to protect your work, but
neither have any responsibilities for loss
or damage.

The Norwin Art League classes
make me more appreciative of all things in nature, thus
creating a love and respect for the beauty of life. This
