OIL PAINTING CLASSES (Classes Start the Week of January 20, 2025)
Oil painting classes are starting on the following days:
Monday, January 20, 2025 from 6:30 – 9:30 pm. This class is for beginners and advanced students, Wednesday, January 22 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. This class is for more advanced artists who will paint what they choose, and Thursday, January 23 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. This class is for beginners who will be taught to paint using a step-by-step method creating a painting of the instructor’s choice.
Students will be painting on 9 x 12 canvases. The first painting will be “A Cold Winter Night,” and the second painting will be “Spring at the Lake.”
Students can join the Norwin Art League simply by visiting the website at www.norwinartleague.com and download a Membership Application. The Cost to join are: $30.00 (adult), $50 (family) and $15 (student). Membership fees are due by the end of January. The membership check should be made out to Norwin Art League. (Payment for classes will need to be in the form of a separate check or cash and will be accepted in person on the first day of classes.) Class fee: $18 per class for members and $25 per class for non-members. Canvases can be purchased for $7 each and paint for both paintings will be $10. Students should bring paper towels with them and are asked to wear old clothing. Brushes for the paintings will also be available for purchase.

COLOR IN MOTION WATERCOLOR CLASS

o paint using watercolor. This class is for beginners to experienced painters. Classes begin Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Class fee: $18 per class (NAL members) and $25 per class (non-members). This class has a 4–5-person minimum registration to be conducted. Each week, students will create a new painting. The teacher will demonstrate each phase of the painting and try to emphasize a new skill each week. Students will be able to utilize a traceable pattern for use with the painting. Students will be able to purchase the required paint and paper, which is include 140lb paper or better, gator boards, primary color watercolor paints plus other colors, a watercolor mixing palette, and various brushes.
