NORWIN ART LEAGUE ART EXHIBIT
The Norwin Art League 48th Annual Exhibit will be held on October 3, 4, and 5, 2024. It will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Irwin, 617 Main Street, Irwin, PA 15642. On October 3 and 4, the exhibit will be open to the public from 12 noon until 8:00 pm. On October 5, the exhibit will be open to the public from 12 noon until 5:00 pm. There is no entrance fee.
The Categories for entering artwork are:
Open: Original work and composition done by an advanced, skilled artist. (No copies of other paintings.)
Amateur: Work done solely by artist independently (No copies of other paintings.)
Adult Students Advanced: 5+ years of painting. Work done with supervision and in class.
Adult Students Beginners: 0-5 years of painting. Work done with supervision and in class.
High School Students: Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior – work done with or without supervision.
Photography: Traditional and enhanced photographic images. Images are changed only slightly to refine it.
Miniatures (New CATEGORY): 6 x 6 piece of artwork done in any media by any level artist.
Entry Fees for two pieces of artwork are: $35 standard fee; $30 for Norwin Art League members in good standing for 2024; and $10 for high school students. For this year, one additional piece of artwork may be entered by any artist for an extra $5.00 after initial entry fee paid. However, the artiest may not exceed 2 pieces of artwork in any one category.
Rules. All pictures must be framed and wired for hanging. Exception: Paintings on 1-1/2” or thicker “gallery canvases” need not be framed, but must be wired for hanging. Gallery canvases accepted only with properly finished edges. Screw eyes must be no lower than 4 inches from top of frame. Size of picture with frame must not exceed 42 inches in width or length. Watercolors, pastels, graphics, photographs, and batiks must be framed under glass for protection. Labels must be affixed to the back of each artwork listing the artist’s name, address, phone number, title of work, medium, and the price (if for sale) or “NFS” if “Not for Sale”. Giclee or other reproductions of original artworks will not be accepted. Artists may not enter artwork previously shown by them in the Norwin Art League Exhibit. All artwork must have been done within the last 5 years.

Artwork will be judged by Lynn Armburst, owner of Greensburg Art Supply. Best of Show, Most Popular, First & Second Place in various categories plus additional awards will be given. Awards are given at the discretion of the judge and are based on the number and quantity of entries in each category. Winners in each category will be honored at the opening night gala on October 3, 2024, at 6:30 pm.
Artwork will be received on October 2, 2024, from 11:00 am to 6:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Irwin Social Hall, 617 Main Street, Irwin, PA 15642. Artwork must be picked up at the First Presbyterian Church Social Hall after the close of the show at 5:00 pm, but no later than 6:00 pm, on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
